FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
GEORGIA REAL ESTATE AGENT APPEARS ON HGTV
Tonya M. Williams is becoming a house-hold name on HGTV’s Show
“Designed to Sell”
(GEORGIA, 5/1/08) – Tonya Williams, with RE/MAX Buckhead, was selected to be the Real Estate expert for 26 episodes on the HGTV’s Atlanta edition of “Designed to Sell.” You can watch Tonya Williams every other episode on Thursdays at 8pm and learn her great real estate tips to selling your home.
Although Williams is becoming a local celebrity now, she has always been a very hard worker. After only six years working as a REALTOR®, she was the #74 RE/MAX Sales Agent nationwide and the #5 RE/MAX Agent in Georgia. In 2007 she qualified for RE/MAX’s Hall of Fame.
William's dream of being on television came true when Home and Garden Television (HGTV) producers selected her out of 150 plus local Atlanta Realtors as one of the two real estate experts who share their real estate knowledge with the homeowners and design team on the show. "I received a call from my broker---while sitting in Atlanta traffic---that HGTV was casting for the show. I was then told that I needed to submit a short personal bio/profile (describing my background) and a picture for the producers within the next two hours. I literally drove back to the office, puffed up my hair and took a digital photo sitting in my car. I uploaded the photo, wrote a quick bio, said a prayer and hit send. Who would have thought that I would have been chosen? I was very pleasantly surprised and honored."
Williams is not only a great Realtor, she is also involved in the community. She is extremely involved in community service activities and organizations in and around Atlanta.
She is a Junior Achievement volunteer mentoring kids in area high schools through the program NEFE (National Endowment for Financial Education) program. “I think it is so important to give
back to the youths and teens through mentoring. It is a refreshing and rewarding feeling to be able to pass on and distribute knowledge to the kids and help them prepare for life
and business in the real world and a global economy . . .” said Williams. She is also very active with the NFL YET (Youth Education Town) Centers Boys and Girls Club here in Atlanta.
She spearheaded a project that resulted in the cast and crew of HGTV's “Designed to Sell” Atlanta edition, partnering with the NFL (National Football League), The Atlanta Falcons Youth Foundation, Steve Young's 'Forever Young Foundation' and former Atlanta Falcon Chris Draft's ’Chris Draft Family Foundation' to redesign/remodel both the boys and girls teen rooms at the NFL YET Center Boys and Girls Club here in Atlanta in early May 2008. “The project is very near and dear to my heart and I thank HGTV and all of my DTS cast members for participating in such a huge ‘give back’ that will have such a far reaching effect for the teens who participate in the NFL YET Center,” stated Williams.
